A Good Economy Means Bad Hollywood Box Office Sales!

Think about it… when the economy is doing good and you have cash in your pocket… you don’t have to settle for artificial entertainment! When jobs are sure, and credit is available, people can take those holidays, feeling more independent to spend money on personal experience. Could this be the simple reason Hollywood is bashing Trump?  A good economy means bad Hollywood Box Office sales… but in recessions ticket sales soar!

Here is a quote from an article in the 2009 Recession: “Despite the Recession, People Are Still Spending Money… We’re also spending a lot more money on: Movie tickets. Even with tickets costing as much as $15 in some cities, going to the movies is still considered one of the cheapest forms of entertainment available. That helps explain why Hollywood studios have already set several box office records this year, with revenue soaring 22%.”

And since Trump won the 2016 Election… “One studio number cruncher puts the decline as high as 10 percent. Two others agree that, absent surprises, 2017 won’t match 2016. If their pessimism is correct, this summer is shaping up to be the worst since 2014, when ticket sales plunged to $4.1 billion, a drop of more than 14 percent year-over-year and the sharpest downturn in three decades.” —The Hollywood Reporter

~Escapism!~ This seems to be the word that encapsulates the insulation Hollywood has against recession… but what can keep Hollywood from the fires of a Boom Economy? It would seem that Hollywood is the tinder for robust economic wealth… where people have the cash or the credit to realize on that very American Dream Movies planted in their brain!

2016 Is on Track to Be Hollywood’s Worst Year for Ticket Sales in a Century

“Not even Captain America can save this industry in crisis.” —Vanity Fair

Well, it is not for lack of trying, recently Captain America throws in his shield backing the political coupe against Trump, as Christ Evans calls him a “moron”.

To quote a Conrad Siegfried response… “What will we do without their razor-sharp political advice.”

(2017) Hollywood fearing worst box office summer in a decade

“Thanks to too many sequels, franchises, and streaming services” —Independent

And that is how you frame a headline that keeps people from the obvious! Hollywood doesn’t want you to catch on, the BIG MONEY for them is in your escapism… not in you doing so good financially that you get off your butt and experience life! Anyway, what kind of headline would sell if it said… A Good Economy Means Bad Hollywood Box Office Sales!

“My fellow Americans, I truly believe that the first 100 days of my administration has been just about the most successful in our country’s history,” Trump said during his weekly address. “Our country is going up, and it’s going up fast.”

15 Times Celebrities Envisioned Violence Against Trump and the GOP —Breitbart

“…the level of vitriol and violent rhetoric against now-President Trump has increased substantially in recent weeks, from comedian Kathy Griffin’s now-famous shock “beheading” photograph to Shakespeare in the Park’s not-at-all-subtle “assassination” of Trump on a stage in New York City’s Central Park.”

Listen, when you see Hollywood ramping up against the most successful President in history… accomplishing more in 7 months in office than Obama did in 8 years… just follow the money!

“Don’t Waste Your Life” —John Piper.
